Self-Invested Pension Plan (SIPP)
The flexible pension that puts your clients in control
The Talbot and Muir SIPP is designed to hold a range of investments within one pension wrapper, helping your clients build a retirement fund with greater flexibility than other pension products. With the freedom to invest across a broad range of assets, clients can take an active role in building their retirement, shaping it around their goals.
Clients can invest in a wide range of investments including shares, bonds, funds, investment trusts, REITs, exchange traded commodities (ETCs) and certain structured products, as well as in commercial property.
As the SIPP market expands, key issues such as investment suitability, benefit drawdown and succession planning demand expert attention. That's where we come in.
Our experienced SIPP team delivers clear, compliant and valuable support, with a high level of personal service. You get the standards you'd expect from a premium provider, backed by a wealth of in-house expertise.
Four reasons a SIPP makes sense
Invest in commercial property
Your clients can purchase commercial property through their SIPP and let it to their own company or a third party - earning a regular rental yield while keeping their retirement savings closely aligned to their business plans.
Take income your way
Like any pension, a SIPP provides an income in retirement. But it puts your clients in control of how and when they take it - including tax-free cash, flexi-access drawdown and uncrystallised funds pension lump sums (UFPLS).
Improved tax efficiency
A SIPP can be highly tax efficient. Employer contributions are usually tax deductible, member contributions benefit from relief at source, and rent paid to a SIPP-owned property goes back into the pension tax free (tax treatment depends on individual circumstances and may change.)
A world of investment choice
A Talbot and Muir SIPP opens up a wide range of investment options, including:
- Commercial property
- Corporate bonds and shares
- Units in regulated collective investment schemes
- Shares in investment trusts
- Real estate investment trusts (REITs)
- National Savings & Investments (NS&I) products
- Gold bullion

Starting with a base tier, clients can move between levels with ease as their circumstances change. Plus, there are no set up fees for online applications.
Our annual administration fee starts at £300 plus VAT for a single investment, £385 plus VAT for cases involving more than one investment portfolio and £1,200 plus VAT for those holding a property in addition to other investments.

Panel of professionals guide
Customers will need to use a solicitor from our approved panel of property professionals for any transactions related to the purchase, sale or transfer in/out of a property within a SIPP. The panel offer specific expertise in property transactions. They also operate a fixed pricing structure and work to agreed service standards, so your clients can be assured they're getting excellent advice at a transparent cost.
Our Panel of Property Professionals guide provides further details. The panel can also be used for SSAS property transactions (but it's not mandated for SSAS).
