Real humans of Nucleus

    Meet Leanne Penny

Find out what some of our colleagues think about working at Nucleus and being part of an inclusive and dynamic culture. Introducing Leanne Penny...

Tell us about you (your role and how long you've worked at Nucleus)

I currently work as a financial crime partner in the Compliance team and I've worked at Nucleus for 16 months now.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

The best thing about my role is that it is very diverse, it can range from investigating fraud, to delivering training sessions, to liaising with the National crime agency, to writing and reviewing policies! Every day in my role is different which keeps it fresh and allows me to stay motivated.

Could you tell us something about you that your CV doesn't cover?

I absolutely love travelling - I spent some time living in Canada and the USA on and off for a couple of years when I finished uni and I try to go on 3-4 holidays a year. I love a city break. I'm currently planning a three week trip to Central America early next year to do some backpacking and go off the beaten track!

Which one of our values resonates most with you and why?

Accountable - in my role it's important for people to become accountable for their work. I really want people to stand up for their opinions and own their decision making.

What advice would you have for someone thinking of joining Nucleus?

What are you waiting for? I took a risk and came from a secure job at a bank to accept a 12-month fixed term contract. 16 months later and I was made permanent at the beginning of the year and I have recently received a promotion. I haven't regretted a single moment of it.
