Time for an independent pensions body?

While we all breathe a sigh of relief tax-free cash was not hit in this year's Autumn Budget, it did include yet another significant change to pension legislation with pension death benefits to be included within the estate for inheritance tax purposes from April 2027.

As we mentioned in our retirement confidence index last year, we continue to believe there's a real need for an independent body to give greater long-term stability around pension and savings tax rules.
